What to Do If You Think You Have Bought A Lemon Motor Home

If you think the motor home you bought is a lemon and you want your money back or another motor home, protect yourself by doing the following things:

• When you go to the dealership to have your lemon motor home repaired, insist that the service representative write down all of your complaints.
• Make sure you get a written repair order each time you bring your lemon motor home to the dealership to be fixed.
• Keep all of your repair orders in a safe place where you can find them when you need them.
• If your motor home cannot be repaired and you suspect it is a lemon, notify:

• If the manufacturer or responsible party insists, allow the manufacturer's representative to inspect the motor home before you decide to file a lemon law lawsuit.
• If you are entitled to your money back pursuant to the California Lemon Law, the manufacturer is entitled to a deduction for mileage. This deduction is based on the number of miles on the motor home the first time you took the the motor home in to repair the (lemon law) problem.
• Before you accept a settlement from the manufacturer, make sure you fully understand what your rights are under the California lemon law or contact an attorney who specializes in lemon law related cases.
